On 22 October 2022 a new picnic park was inaugurated and the fourth tree planting day under the “Bluepharma Forest” initiative was held in Moinho das Freiras, Pedrogão Pequeno, in the municipality of Sertã, bringing together 50+ volunteers, Bluepharma employees and representatives of the initiative's partners: Agrosistema, DT Internacional, Green Keeper, Indaver, ROFF, Schmitt+Sohn Elevadores, Obra de a-z, Plural and the Rotary Clubs of Coimbra Olivais, Coimbra, Coimbra Santa Clara ,and Nyon, Switzerland.

The partner companies marked the inauguration of the picnic park, a project they embraced and to which they have generously contributed, with the planting of trees.

The goal is to recover an area severely affected by wildfires in recent years, restoring the forest and installing public facilities that enable visitors to enjoy a place of unique natural beauty in greater comfort.

The Bluepharma Forest project, created in 2017 in a partnership between the Bluepharma Group, the Municipality of Sertã and Aproflora, is now completed, ensuring the planting of 5,475 oak trees and securing the proper maintenance thereof in the medium term.

These reforestation initiatives are part of the internal Bluelinks programme, aimed at integrating the social, economic and environmental objectives of the Bluepharma Group, structuring and enhancing the various activities and initiatives it promotes, and saw the participation of Bluepharma’s CEO, Paulo Barradas Rebelo, and the company's Vice President Maria Isolina Mesquita.

The project was also supported by the Parish Council of Pedrogão Pequeno, which made the land available and will monitor the planted area to identify any problems (diseases, drought and other issues), with the collaboration of SERQ - Forestry Innovation and Skills Centre, in the institutional and logistics organisation of the initiative.

We believe that it is small gestures that trigger big actions!

TOGETHER, let's continue to Care for the Good Health of the Planet.
