On 12 December 2022, Bluepharma, in partnership with the University of Coimbra, presented the facsimile edition of Pharmacopea chymica, medica, e cirurgica.
This ninth pharmacopeia, from the collection of the General Library of the University of Coimbra, is part of a collection of ten works which, in 2014, Bluepharma pledged to re-edit, at the rate of one publication per year.
The work, in the São Pedro Room of the General Library, was presented by João Rui Pita, Professor of the University of Coimbra's Faculty of Pharmacy, attended by Paulo Barradas Rebelo, CEO of Bluepharma, João Gouveia Monteiro, Director of the General Library, and Alexandre Dias Pereira, Director of the Coimbra University Press.
“Pharmacopea chymica, medica, e cirurgica” (1805), authored by the prestigious and well-known pharmacist António José de Sousa Pinto, a landmark work in Portuguese pharmaceutical literature, a modern and practical pharmacopoeia, as it values the role of the pharmacist, who supports the doctor's task and defends the health of patients.

It thus makes perfect sense to re-edit Pharmacopea chymica, medica, e cirurgica, and I thank all those involved and who helped make this extraordinary work possible,” stresses Paulo Barradas Rebelo, CEO of Bluepharma.
