The European Commission congratulated Bluepharma on the environmental accomplishments achieved over the 18 years the company joined the Eco-Management and Audit Community System (EMAS). Bluepharma has been EMAS certified since 2003, being the only national pharmaceutical industry and one of the first 10 companies in Portugal to obtain this registration.
As part of the commemoration of 25 years of EMAS, the European Commission honored the organizations that, in each country, obtained the first registrations in this system. Bluepharma obtained the 8th national registration, 18 years ago, being since then the only Portuguese company in the pharmaceutical sector with this certification. In Portugal there are a total of 47 certified companies, from different sectors and across Europe there are currently 28 pharmaceutical industries with this certification.
Every year Bluepharma draws up an Environmental Declaration that includes, among other things, the description of the organization and its activities, products or services, its environmental policy and a short description of the environmental management system, as well as the results of the environmental program, including performance indicators.
